Finally, the official Hulu Plus can now be downloaded on a device that does not feature the official Android Market App! In an announcement made last week by Amazon, it said that Kindle Fire would support Hulu’s internet video app for TV shows and streaming movies. The app now features in Amazon’s AppStore since November 14, 2011.

Hulu Plus, presently available only to customers in US, allows users to watch their favorite movies and TV shows directly via the Hulu service on their mobile device. Hulu charges $7.99 per month for the service, however, paid viewers are granted access to exclusives episodes and TV shows that are not available for free users. Until now, customers could only buy Hulu subscriptions from devices that supported the Android Marketplace. However, with this recent development, the idea to install Hulu on other budget tablets seems possible in the near future. The NOOK tablet, from Barnes & Noble, is said to be offering Hulu as a pre-loaded app from later this week.

A limitation here in this regard is that the Hulu Plus app featured in the Amazon Store is not supported on all devices. When a device is connected to the Appstore, it only lists applications that are compatible with the device. Currently, only Kindle Fire supports this applications. The app is unavailable for download in devices such as HP TouchPad, Google Nexus One and Velocity Micro Cruz T410.
